Beauty Photoshopping

Before                                                                                   After

This took me a really long time. I decided to try changing up a person with no make up by adding make up and changing simple parts of the face. Some of the biggest things I changed were the Nose and the Eyes. I made both of them smaller and spaced out the eyes a bit more. I also changed the shape of the girl's nose. I also gave her bangs and bigger and brighter lips. I changed her eye color to a light turquoise with yellow in the center. Most of this was accomplished with simple changes like using the paint brush with a different filters. Other things I did were erasing under eye circles and large smile lines.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower movie poster

This has probably been one of my favorite projects, even though I have had a lot of problems. I started out with the idea of using the faces of the main characters but I found a few problems with that.

Process

I tried removing the image from its original background (which turned out fine) but once i changed the color to black and white i felt like it was lacking some elements. I then just scrapped that idea. I then moved onto the idea of making a more simplistic poster. With that basic idea I was able to create the poster above.
The 3 elements that I put into the poster that related back to the movie were the typewriter, cassette tape, and quotes from the movie (on the paper and on the label of the cassette tape). Then to finsih it off I added the text. I downloaded some typewriter type and a more structures text for both the name of the movie and the starring actors. To specialize my text I added a highlight around the title to make it POP. Then to finish it off I added the movies signature lime green color for the background.
The three colors I used were tan, lime green, and a light grey. This was accompanied by the white paper and black text and accents.
That was the basic outline of what I did. All of this project was done using photoshop (my favorite program ever). I enjoy the simplicity this poster has to offer and am very proud of it.

Specialized font

I used the font "Harrington" to give my name a more classy appeal and then I followed the tutorial and made my specialized font name.

Water Princess

So the basic idea of this project was to make a girl underwater but then i decided to add some more elements, like the castle, grass, and walkway. This is probably one of my favorite projects just because it turned out so well.
With all of the pictures there was a lot of blue coloring, even in the original pictures. This made it easier to blend them all together.
I added some small elements that you may not have seen, like the bubbles around the girl's mouth and the coloring on the path. Along with the sand and sea grass.
I think the hardest element on this project was the castle, I had to go in and remove it from its original background, and with all its peaks and curls it was fairly difficult. The girl on the other hand was simplistic enough. easy guidelines and the white dress was perfect for hiding mistakes.
I think I am going to do more projects just like this, it was nice to give myself something a bit more challenging to do.

10 things I love

Here is my finished design for the "10 things I love" poster. I wanted to mainly focus on adding color and having a very creative design that is eye-catching. The items I chose are very diverse and special to me. I chose the text based on the style I wanted to achieve. I went with the fonts "sketch book" to give it a very playful look and then followed it up with "American Typewriter " to give it the structured counter part. I liked how the two fonts were opposite yet worked so well together. The subheading was not much different from the "american typewriter" all i changed was the size and italicized it.
One thing I noticed about all of the products I listed for my top 10, is that they all have a very simplistic deign that makes them look almost sheik. Bright colors on the drinks are eye-catching and just look delicious. The electronics, converse, and PS label all have very dark colors and not much contrast. This gives them a modern look with a hint of elegance.
The main thing I learned from this project is that colors and type can really effect the mood your product can have. I find it really interesting that simple things added together can create such fantastic visuals.

Red Paint

Random Photoshop project that I did in my spare time. Basically the idea was to put together a few different elements like the paint bucket, paint roller, and paint splatters to give the illusion that the man was running away from the spill. I started out with a plain white background and added the white trim to give the picture a very obvious horizon line. After extracting the man from his original background I added paint slashes to his clothing and head. To finish it off I added my name, turned it around, and made it a low opacity.

2014 Video Final

With this semester I really enjoyed myself. We did a lot of projects that I enjoyed but there were also some I didn't like. Some of my favorite projects would probably include the final, the blood drive, and the music video. Probably the only thing I disliked this semester would have to be the Lego video. Overall I feel like I learned a lot with editing which I really enjoyed. We also learned more about how to hold the camera and different shots we can film. I can't wait for next semester!
