Google Logo
The official Google logo was designed by Ruth Kedar. It was based on the Catull typeface, an old style serif typeface. In 1998, Sergey Brin created a computerized version of the Google letters using the free graphics program GIMP. On May 6, 2010, the Google logo just got slightly redesigned, changing its “o” color from yellow to orange and removing the drop shadow which created a rather ugly imbalance all these years.
Google tends to keep things simple. To make things exciting google changes its logo on various occasions like festivals, important holidays, tribute to famous people. They are called Google Doodles.
